Woahhh! Varun Dhawan’s Judwaa 2 crosses the lifetime box office collection of Salman Khan’s Judwaa in one day!

We all know that Varun Dhawan‘s Judwaa 2 is a sequel to Salman Khan’s hit film – Judwaa (1997). While everyone has been busy comparing the performances of Salman and Varun both these films, we have an interesting update for all of you. After starting off fantastically at the box office, Judwaa 2 has managed to cross the lifetime collections of Judwaa in one day itself. Surprising, isn’t it?

Well, if you remember, we had revealed to you a few days back that Salman Khan‘s Judwaa had raked in Rs 15 crore (approx) in its lifetime run during 1997. Judwaa 2, on the other hand, has collected Rs 16.10 crore on the first day itself. In fact, while Judwaa had taken nearly 4 weeks to collect this amount, the sequel has done it in a single day. Obviously, the economics and box office trends during 1997 was completely different from what it is now. But still, if you compare the two, Judwaa 2 has started off much better and has bigger buzz than the original. So this quite clearly proves that Judwaa 2 has beaten Judwaa hands down already. Obviously the nostalgia factor of the first film has helped give Judwaa 2 a push. But the engaging content, the huge buzz surrounding the sequel and the hit dance numbers have also helped the movie rake in the moolah. In its lifetime run, Judwaa 2 has the potential to earn anywhere between Rs 130 – 150 crore, which is quite higher than what the prequel managed. But can Varun’s film become the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2017? That’s something we will have to wait and see. Till then, stay tuned to BollywoodLife as we get you all the latest details about the film right here.
