The superstar of the millennium surely needs no introduction. Amitabh Bachchan turned 75 today and was away from the city, celebrating his birthday on the islands of Maldives with his family. Now, if you ask us, that’s the best way to ring in a birthday – with your near and dear ones fussing over you. But what’s even better is getting a surprise gift. And Big B will be in for a big one coming his way when he returns to the city.
He has been gifted a 230-feet tall mural that is currently being painted on one of the buildings in Mumbai and needless to say, it is going to turn into an iconic one. A project by Bollywood Art Project (BAP), that has made several such iconic artworks across the city, is the brain behind this one as well. And, honestly, we can’t wait to see the final product. Who knows, perhaps AB Sr. might even mention it in his blog or tweet about it when he sees it and we hope its sooner than later. Filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh happened to pass by the mural and tweeted a picture of the same. Check out the tweet below…

But that’s not all. The mural might as well be the tallest one ever and is in the running for a record. Ranjit Dahiya, of BAP, in an interview with Mid-Day said, “Mahatma Gandhi’s mural in New Delhi currently stands tallest at 158 feet. The third highest mural is that of Dadasaheb Phalke at the MTNL building in Bandra Reclamation, which was done by us in 2014. That is 125-foot-high. This one is taller than both. It is expected to be completed by October 15.”
Apparently, the ones behind the project also are big fans of the actor and chose Amitabh’s Deewar pose as they believed it truly imbibes the essence of the angry young man that Big B was known to immortalise.
