Actor Kunal Kemmu and his lovely wife Soha Ali Khan were recently blessed with a baby girl. They have named the little munchkin as Inaaya, and Kunal happily announced the same on Twitter.
He had posted, “We are over the moon to share we have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl on this auspicious day Thank you for the love&blessings. We have named our daughter Inaaya Naumi Kemmu. Little Inaaya is happy and healthy and she thanks all of you for your love and blessings.” (Also read: Soha Ali Khan captures newborn Inaaya Naumi in daddy Kunal Kemmu’s arms)
11 days into fatherhood, when we met up with Kunal Kemmu, during the promotions of his upcoming film Golmaal Again, we asked him about his experience of being a new father. To this, he said, “I have just been a father for 11 days now. It has kind of not sunk in. Sleep cycles and priorities have changed. I now look forward to going back home and not watching TV or calling over friends but just spending time with her. I know there is lots more entertaining stuff in store for us. Right now she is sleeping sometimes 18-20 hours and sometimes 22 hours.”
Ask him how it feels to see his journey from being a child actor to now himself having a child, and Kunal quips, “Wo bolte hai na… Pehle tu actor tha ab tu baap actor ban gaya (laughs). But yeah, sometimes it takes time to realize that ‘oh I am a father and I have a child’. But it is exciting. I am happy and excited to live every day. I am happy that she is healthy and good.”
As soon as the little girl was born, Kunal declared her arrival and also revealed her name. When quizzed how did they decide upon her name, Kunal reveals, “When we were expecting our first baby, obviously we shortlisted a few names for both the boys and girls, which is the first thing to do. And Inaaya was a name which was universally liked by all. So we went ahead with it.”
Quiz Kunal, if he has changed the diapers of his princess, and pat comes the reply, “I have stood there and boosted morals. But I haven’t yet changed her diapers. I would do that soon. But I am nervous holding her because she is too delicate. We are first-time parents so we are getting a little help. Soha is hands-on and wants to immediately learn. I am right now just holding her and putting her to sleep.”
