Tumhari Sulu trailer: Simple, humorous and aspirational – We saw the sneak peek of Vidya Balan’s film and here’s what we felt

The National Award winning Vidya Balan had a bad year so far in 2017, with her one release so far, Begum Jaan, not doing wonders at the box office. Despite a terrific trailer and the fact it was a remake of an award-winning remake of a Bengali movie, Begum Jaan neither impressed the critics nor the masses. But Vidya Balan could win our love back with her upcoming slice-of-life drama, Tumhari Sulu. Directed by Suresh Triveni, Vidya Balan plays a housewife who turns a late-night RJ in the movie. The trailer will be out tomorrow, but we have already seen the promo and here’s what we have felt. Don’t worry. The movie looks surely promising.

Like we said before, Vidya Balan plays a middle-class married woman, Sulochana aka Sulu, who is a housewife by the day, and a late night RJ by night. The talented Manav Kaul, of CityLights and Kai Po Che fame, plays her husband, while Neha Dhupia plays her boss. If you have seen the teaser, you would have got the idea that Tumhari Sulu would be light and funny. Well, the trailer continues on the same trend delivering dollops of humour and jokes.  The vibe is simple, easy and innocent, and will be relatable to the audiences. Above all, Tumhari Sulu has an aspirational value that every housewife can relate to and get inspired by.

Then there is the recreated Hawa Hawai song from Mr India, that looks fun and vibrant, and holds a lot of nostalgic value. As per a report in DNA, the makers have managed to rope in Sridevi, on whom the original song was picturised, to launch the song.

Coming back to the trailer, Tumhari Sulu will definitely make most of Vidya Balan’s fans happy, as it plays to her strengths as well as is funny and relatable. Watch the trailer tomorrow and let us know in the comments section below.

Tumhari Sulu is scheduled to release on November 17.
