Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again beats Salman Khan’s Tubelight to become the third highest overseas grosser of 2017


As Ajay Devgn’s Golmaal Again achieved the Rs 200 crore milestone in the domestic market, the film continues to perform exceedingly well at the overseas box office. The Rohit Shetty comedy-caper has crossed Rs 45 crore mark and is expected to achieve Rs 50 crore soon in the international markets. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh shared the official collections, “#GolmaalAgain crosses $ 7 million / ₹ 45 cr mark OVERSEAS… Total till Saturday, 11 November 2017: $ 7.07 million [₹ 46.08 cr]… EXCELLENT!”

The horror-comedy which also features Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade, Parineeti Chopra and Tabu in key roles has already the Rs 300 crore mark at the global box office. Interestingly, Golmaal Again has also beaten Salman Khan’s Tubelight, which had collected $7 million in the international markets. It has now become the third highest overseas grosser of 2017 after Raees ($13.5 million) and Jab Harry Met Sejal ($10 million). Though it’ll be difficult for Golmaal Again to surpass the business of SRK’s JHMS. With the impressive collections, Golmaal Again has now become one of the biggest blockbusters in the recent times. Sharing the excitement, Shibasish Sarkar, Chief Operating Officer, Reliance Entertainment, said: “‘Golmaal Again’ entered the top 10 films ranking after surpassing the previous Diwali blockbuster ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. We are extremely happy with the acclaim that ‘Golmaal Again’ has received not only in India but worldwide.” Even director Rohit Shetty was delighted with the response that Golmaal Again has received, “I am overjoyed by the continuous love shown by the fans of Golmaal and this is evident by the sheer numbers at the box office.”
