Shahid Kapoor will be next seen playing the royal, Raja Rawal Singh, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next Padmavati. The movie has courted controversy as Shri Rajput Karni Sena, BJP, VHP have been protesting against it. The organisations claim that the movie portrays the Rajputana culture in a bad light and distorts facts. While filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has time and again made it clear that there is nothing objectionable in the film that would hurt the religious sentiments of anyone, the protesters seem to be in no mood of understanding. Shahid has finally reacted to the controversy around the film repeats the same. He also raises a very logical point that people need to see the film before protesting against it.
The actor was walking the ramp at GQ Fashion Nights, last night. While interacting with the media present there, he said, “We will respect whatever people think of the film but you should see it first,” and added, “I’ve been saying this since a long time. Watch the film and then decide. Give the film a chance and don’t form preconceived notions. We have tried to keep everyone’s feelings and interests in mind,”.
Deepika Padukone, who was also present at the same event, has refused to comment on the controversy. But she did say, “It has been an incredible journey and we are literally counting the days. We can’t wait for the film to release and we can’t wait to share this experience with everyone .” ALSO READ: Padmavati row: Salman Khan comes out in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali -watch video
